I understand quite a bit about SCons; not as much as some core devs, but I can make my way around the source tree comfortably and have contributed a few builders and fixes over the years I've been using SCons. I started using SCons when it was still Cons (the old Perl version of SCons) a long time ago. I'm also (too-!) frequently found on the users and dev mailing lists.
